Merry Sunshine Update

August 24, 2026

Welcome to our first update! We have had an absolutely wonderful start to our first week of school here at Merry Sunshine. The classroom is filled with energy, and it is a joy to watch the children settle into their new environment.
Our classroom centers are a major hit this week. The children have been enthusiastically exploring the various fun centers set up around the room, which are carefully designed to promote independent choices, cooperation, and creative play. These areas help our youngest learners build confidence as they navigate their new daily routines and make new friends.
One area generating an incredible amount of excitement is our dedicated science and discovery space, specifically our interactive caterpillar station! In an Early Childhood environment, a well-designed science area is essential for fostering natural curiosity. When young children engage with live science displays, they are not just looking—they are actively observing, predicting, and analyzing changes. Watching our caterpillars up close allows the children to practice foundational scientific inquiry skills, such as noticing small details, asking questions about growth, and developing an early appreciation for the natural world.
