CUMC WESLEYANS

CUMC Wesleyans will meet Saturday, July 19th at 6pm in the Good Sheep classroom, #12 – please note the change of location.  We gather the third Saturday of each month, March through November to share conversation and refreshments, a time of devotion and prayer, and enjoy a game or two.  All are invited to come and share in this time of Christian fellowship.  Hosts this month will be Jim & Carol Power.

PRISON FELLOWSHIP

Start your Christmas shopping now! Outreach team will be collecting $40 Walmart gift cards and monetary donations. Look for the Angel Tree table in the Narthex between services on Sundays, July 20th  and 27th. Checks can be written to CUMC, please note "Angel Tree" on memo line. Donations can also be placed in the collection plate during services. Use the pew envelopes, and mark "Angel Tree" on the front for proper accounting.  

  These cards will be gifted at Christmas time to children with incarcerated parents in the Prison Fellowship program. Thank you church for your faithful service to this program!

CUMC MEMBERSHIP EXPLORATION CLASS

Thinking of joining CUMC? Join us for a Membership Class, which will be held Sunday, July 27th, at 1:30pm. 

Anyone who desires to become a member of the church or anyone who simply wants to learn more about the church should plan to come.  Although pre-registration is not required, it is helpful to know if you’re planning to come.   Please contact Roxi at the church office to register and to receive additional information (309-755-2508 or connect@christchurchquadcities.com).

COMMUNITY FUN TIME

Let’s get together and have some fun! Join us for a new and exciting event: Community Fun Time! Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy all we have to offer in the gymnasium and Family Life Center. We will have a variety of sporting activities, crafts, and much much more! It is fun for families of all ages and sizes! Please join us on the last Sunday of every month - next event: Sunday, July 27th, @ 2pm! 

Please note: Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and minors must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.

UWF SEASONS OF FUN

Foot Clinic

Sole Relief is a Foot Care Specialist provide professional and compassionate foot care services to ensure the comfort and well-being of our clients.

Responsibilities include: soaking feet, trimming toenails, filing, cleaning cuticles, and massaging the feet and lower legs.   

We perform thorough foot assessments, particularly for clients who cannot see or reach their feet, identifying potential concerns. Additionally, we provide specialized foot care for individuals with diabetes and educate clients on proper

at-home care between visits to promote long-term health and prevent complications.  We are dedicated to promoting foot health, hygiene, and overall wellness for every client we serve.
Our schedule is the every other month on the even month (Feb, Apr...etc) 9am-12pm. We're in the room down the hall from the food pantry.

GRIEF SHARE

Save the date, the next Grief Share Class will start August 21st, 1:30-3:00pm, in The Family Life Center Classroom.

UMW CHURCH WORLD SERVICES

United Methodist Women will be collecting HYGIENE AND SCHOOL KITS for Church World Services. We will be collecting them until October 19, 2025.

Please leave either or both the Hygiene or School Kits in the Church Workroom. Hygiene kits are to be placed in a one-gallon Ziploc-type bag. School kits are to

be left in the bags from where they were purchased. See the list below for items to be included in each kit. If you prefer, individual items from the following lists may be purchased, or if you desire you can make a donation of $15 or more per kit. We will then purchase items for you. Such monetary donations should be mailed to Margaret Baumann at 505 East 5th Street, Coal Valley, IL 61240. Please fill in the memo section of your check with the wording “Kits”.

Thank you for helping us with this project. These kits make a big difference in the lives of persons both in the USA and around the world facing emergencies such as earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods and more. We appreciate your generosity and help with this project.

HYGIENE KITS

  • 1 hand towel measuring 15”x28” or 16”x32”

  • 1 washcloth

  • 1 wide-tooth comb

  • 1 bath size bar of soap in original package

  • 1 finger or toenail clipper

  • 1 toothbrush in original package

  • 10 standard size Band-aids

SCHOOL KITS

  • 1 pair blunt scissors

  • 3 70-count bound notebooks (no loose-leaf or filler paper)

  • 1 12-inch ruler / 30 cm

  • 1 hand-held pencil sharpener

  • 1 large eraser (no pencil cap erasers)

  • 6 pencils (new/unsharpened with erasers)

  • 1 box of 24 crayons
