ADULT LENTEN STUDY

40 Days of Community: We Are Better Together by Rick Warren.

A study during Lent.

Thursday evenings, via Zoom. Beginning March 6th (through April 10) at  6:30pm.

Sunday mornings, in person in Room #12. Beginning March 9th (through April 13th) at 10:00am. 

Tuesday mornings, in person in Room #12. Beginning March 11th (through April 15th) at 9:00am.

GRIEF SHARE CLASS

Classes meet weekly on Thursday at 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM, in the Classroom of the Family Life Center at the East Moline Campus through April 24. To reserve a spot, please contact the church office at 309-755-2508, ext. 201 or email  connect@christchurchquadcities.com 

JESUS- THE MASTER STORYTELLER (on hold)

Dive into the powerful parables of Jesus with our new study titled, “Jesus—The Master Storyteller.” This engaging 12-session study will include a break for the Radical Methodism series (approx 5 weeks)

This class meets weekly on Thursdays at 6:30pm (via Zoom). Each class discusses a new parable, so you are welcome to jump in at any time!

MEN’S GOLF LEAGUE

The Church Men’s Golf League will begin play at Golfmohr Golf Course in Hampton at 9am on Wednesday, April 2nd, weather permitting.  Players should be registered by 8:40am.  This a social league only, there are no matches or requirements for weekly attendance, just golf and fun.  We meet, draw names for foursomes and play with different people every week.  We welcome new members and are open to men from any Quad City church who enjoy playing golf.  

The Annual Rules & Information meeting will be held at 9:00am on Wednesday, March 26th at the Fresh Kitchen Restaurant (the old Windmill), 1190 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL.

EASTER EGG SCAVENGER HUNT

Join Christ United Methodist Church, along with our Merry Sunshine Preschool, for an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt! 

This will take place on Saturday, April 5th from 10:00am-11:30am throughout the church at our East Moline campus.

To make this event as successful as possible, we are looking for Easter candy donations to help fill those eggs for all of our enthusiastic participants.

This event is free and open to kids and teens of all ages from our church and surrounding community. We only ask that participants are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to help support our food pantry ministry. 

UWF HIGH TEA

The United Women in Faith will be holding a "High Tea" on Saturday May 3rd at 1:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Tickets will go on sale in the Cafe starting Sunday March 30th.  Price $15.00.

MATTER OF BALANCE

Steph and  Diana are planning another ‘Matter of Balance’ class for this Spring.  Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging and Christ United Methodist Church offer this class free of charge to the participants.  We pay all costs for holding this course and the booklet and worksheets are yours to keep.

Classes will be on Tuesday and Thursday, April 15th through May 8th at 9:30 -11:30 am in the Family Life Center classroom.

TOWNHALL MEETINGS With Bishop Kennetha

The following dates have been confirmed:

West District -- Sunday, April 6th, Preaching at Macomb: Wesley. Town Hall at Monmouth UMC, TBA

South District -- Sunday, May 4th. Preaching at Mt. Vernon: First UMC, 10am. Town Hall Meeting at Carbondale: First UMC, time TBA

Bishop Kennetha J. Bigham-Tsai is scheduling Town Hall Meetings in each of the five districts in the upcoming months.

This will be an opportunity to meet Bishop Kennetha and ask questions.  

The day's schedule will have the bishop preaching at a church in the morning followed by the District Town Hall Meeting in the afternoon.

FOOT CLINIC

Sole Relief is a Foot Care Specialist provide professional and compassionate foot care services to ensure the comfort and well-being of our clients. Responsibilities include: soaking feet, trimming toenails, filing, cleaning cuticles, and massaging the feet and lower legs.

We perform thorough foot assessments, particularly for clients who cannot see or reach their feet, identifying potential concerns.

Additionally, we provide specialized foot care for individuals with diabetes and educate clients on proper at-home care between visits to promote long-term health and prevent complications. We are dedicated to promoting foot health, hygiene, and overall wellness for every client we serve.
The foot Clinic meets the 2nd Monday of every other month, from 9am to 12pm. We're in the room down the hall from the food pantry. The next date is Monday, April 14

SELF COMPASSION AND THE CANCER JOURNEY

We know the experience of living with cancer is a life challenge. How do we sustain our hope, energy, and trust in the future? We will be sharing of practical ways to nurture our self-compassion so we can live with positive energy about ourselves and our journey of a ‘new normal’.
