BIOGRAPHY OF GUEST SPEAKER DAN UGASTE
Dan Ugaste will be the guest speaker next Sunday, January 18th, during all three services.
Dan will describe the impact of his participation in mission trips as a youth and as an adult upon his faith journey. As a husband, a father, a grandfather, an attorney and a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, Dan’s witness has a profound impact upon an expansive network.
Dan’s Biography:
Dan Ugaste is a life long resident of Illinois and has lived in the Chicago metro area the entire time. Dan grew up primarily in Lake Forest, where he attended the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest. During that time, Dan was extremely active in the church youth group and participated in 3 mission trips during high school.
Dan graduated from Lake Forest College in 1985. He then attended law school at DePaul University. In 1987, he married his wife of the past 38 years, Denise. They had 3 daughters and now have 6 grandchildren.
Following law school, Dan began practicing law in Chicago. Dan spent 36 years in practice as a litigator and remains a licensed attorney.
In 2018, Dan was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives. He represents the 65th District, which includes the far western suburbs of Chicago in Kane and DuPage counties. For the 104th General Assembly, House Republican Leader Tony McCombie appointed Dan to a leadership position as an Assistant Minority Leader.
Dan Ugaste has served as the President of the Lake Forest College Alumni Board, as well as President and Chair of various bar associations and committees. In 2017 and 2018 Dan was an adult chaperone on mission trips with the United Methodist Church of Geneva. Dan is currently a member of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Aurora.
