“Worthy of It All”

Last week we introduced a beautiful song of worship in Worthy of It All. Let’s take a deeper look into the lyrics. Much of the song comes from Revelation 4.  Revelation 4:9-11 says:  9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say, 11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

   Can you picture that awe-inspiring scene in Heaven? God seated on His throne, with every single creature bowed at His feet...raising their voices in a beautiful chorus of praise!  The bridge repeats:  Day and night, night and day, let incense arise.

   These words from the song "Worthy of It All" offer such a beautiful picture of Heaven. Drawing from Revelation 4:9-11, they portray a profound scene of eternal adoration where living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to Him who sits on the throne. This praise to the Lord of Lords is carried out by every creature, great and small, alongside the twenty-four elders who fall down and cast their crowns before the Lamb of God.

   This corporate worship is entirely without ceasing day and night, night and day, letting incense arise before the throne. It serves as a powerful reminder for us to continually praise the King of Kings, remembering that from Him and to Him are all things, and He truly deserves the glory. As we sing this song Sunday together, may the Lord accept our praise as a sweet offering of our worship as it ascends to heaven as incense of praise.
