The Aura of Joy

 The last few months at Christ UMC have been especially remarkable. We’ve witnessed traditional celebrations that have invited a deeper consideration of annual observances and we’ve seen the resurgence of the engagement with youth and their families. As the excitement builds around the Seasons of Fun luncheon at the beginning of the month and the joy of the month culminating with Rally Day and Community Fun Time, we can easily acknowledge the abundance of blessings around us.  

   The youth and adults participating in the Fourth of July parade again this year. However, several youth AND adults commented that they regretted not being able to participate in the parade and represent the church. The parade came on the heels of the Blessing of the Wheels/Family Fun Festival that was enjoyed by many members of the church and the community. These joys quickly followed the Youth Lock-In that the youth are already requesting to schedule the next one!

   We are overjoyed by the seamless transitions over the summer which have allowed us to offer several opportunities for service, recreation and growth.   Paige Kaltschnee is the new Youth Minister. We are looking forward to her leadership and contributions to the church, especially the youth and their families.  

   We’ll include a special article next week to introduce Paige, her husband, Cam, and her dog, Euclid. They are excited to have recently moved to Moline and she is spending the majority of this week unpacking. She’s also already attended several meetings and met many of the youth. We are all looking forward to praying, laughing, learning and serving together.    

   We are looking forward to seeing each of you in worship, in class and on the mission field.
